Carpathian Single Malt Whisky is the first single-malt worldwide using exclusively 100 % malted barley produced in Romania.

Distillation, aging, and bottling are carried out at the Alexandrion Saber 1789 Distillery, strategically located near the Carpathian Mountains. A traditional Scottish method is used with double distillation in each batch.

For all the “expressions” of this whisky, the wine barrels are supplied by producers of famous wine varieties from all over the world.

• Burgundy Wine – Non-Chill filtered & finished in hand-selected 225L European oak barrels previously holding French Burgundy wine. Deep copper in color this whisky has notes of oak, berries, honey, and vanilla with a lingering sweet full-bodied taste compounded by having spent its initial three years in 53-gallon 1st fill American white oak ex-Kentucky bourbon barrels.

• Commandaria – Sourced from Troodos Mountains of Cyprus, these 200L oak barrels once housed the ancient Cypriot wine Commandaria. This sweet wine has influenced the whisky to give notes of vanilla, raisin, fig and a little spice. Light copper color with a sweet round lingering finish.

• Feteasca Neagra – Having spent its initial years in a charred first fill ex-Kentucky bourbon cask of white American Oak, this whisky was then transferred to a toasted European Oak red wine cask previously holding a Romanian Fetească Neagră wine sourced from our own winery.

• Cognac – It has matured in ex-Kentucky bourbon barrels and spent the first years in French cognac barrels, which adds complexity to this rich golden cognac whisky. Notes of vanilla and honey with a sweet lingering finish.
